New Mooncake Collection Unveiled

The Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner and to celebrate the second most important festival of the year, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is pleased to present a brand new yet flavourful mooncake selection. This will enable guests to honour family members and the limited production of delectable treasures is now available for pre-order and will be a perfect addition to the Mid-Autumn celebrations.

This year, One Harbour Road Chef de Cuisine - Chan Hon Cheong - has created a new flavour for the acclaimed One Harbour Road Collection Box (priced at HK$498). This is a premium ensemble of two creative flavours: bird’s nest with almonds and honey custard and ginger custard with salted egg yolk. Reinterpreting classic and sweet Chinese almond dessert soup with a modern twist, the new handmade bird’s nest with almond and honey custard uniquely blends fragrances, flavours and textures to provide new experiences for the senses. The mooncake is made of almonds that offer a silky smooth texture and blend honey from a local apiary with bird’s nest filling to give a brand new luxurious experience like no other.

Moreover, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong will make available three original collections of handmade mooncakes, meticulously crafted using the finest ingredients to please even the most seasoned of palates. The whole series will feature exquisite packaging - stylish and handy boxes in silver, gold and the red of the bright full moon. Designed with symbolic and auspicious motifs, the collections will stand out and make ideal gifts during the Mid-Autumn season.

Catering to more traditional tastes, the Full Moon Box (priced at HK$428) features a traditional recipe passed down through generations: authentic white lotus seed purée with two salted egg yolks, encased in a thin pastry that is fresh and delicate. The Bright Moon set of eight mini-mooncakes (priced at HK$388) is filled with carefully balanced milk custard for a delicious melt-in-the-mouth experience, perfectly portioned for sharing to create a memorable occasion. The Pearl Moon Box (priced at HK$398), expertly blends traditional Chinese ingredients by using 20-year-old citrus peel and Tianjin red bean paste.


For those seeking a more deluxe option, the Grand Hamper (priced at HK$2,888) features a Full Moon Box alongside a selection of other delights, such as French red wine, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong’s renowned homemade X.O. chilli sauce and chocolates, luxury Chinese tea selection, caramelised walnuts and fried cashew nuts. This hamper of delicious goodies is the ultimate treat.

Hampers, Full Moon, Bright Moon and Pearl Moon mooncake collections are available to order now and can be picked up from 15 September to 5 October 2017.


One Harbour Road Collection boxes can be picked up from 22 September to 5 October 2017 and supply is limited.
