Wanchai, Hong Kong Island - City Information

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is situated in Wanchai, a metropolitan area filled with varieties in the northern shore on Hong Kong Island. The area’s flagship building is the harbourfront Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre which Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is directly connected to. Within five-minute walk from the hotel, the Golden Bauhinia Square, Hong Kong Art Centre and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts are some of the worth-visiting spots.
Being one of the earliest developed areas in Hong Kong, Wanchai’s rich heritage brings a number of worth-seeing historical sights – most of which are on the Wanchai Heritage Trail. Highlights include the century old Hung Shing Temple and the Old Wanchai Post Office on Queen’s Road East, one of the few remaining examples of small scale colonial architecture. The Blue House on 72 Stone Nullah Lane, named after the brilliant blue paint on its façade is known for its architecture. This is one of the last remaining tenement buildings in Hong Kong to survive both World War Two and urban development.
